What is the AI Lab for Lawyers?

AI Lab for Lawyers is a four-day live cohort course on Maven taught by Dr. Niklas Schmidt, partner at Wolf Theiss. Unlike lecture-style AI overviews, the Lab is built around doing: each two-hour session has you working directly in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, NotebookLM and legal-specific tools on research memos, contract review, due diligence and client communication. You leave with prompts and workflows you can apply the next morning, plus more than 300 practical slides and lifetime access to the recordings.

The curriculum covers how large language models actually work (so you can judge their limits), advanced prompt engineering for legal drafting, protecting client confidentiality in AI tools, using AI for business development and LinkedIn presence, and a look at autonomous AI agents that will handle routine law-firm tasks. Cohorts run roughly monthly, with 100 seats each. Group discounts of 20–25% are available for firms enrolling several lawyers.

Who teaches it?

Dr. Niklas Schmidt is a partner and Head of Tax at Wolf Theiss, admitted as an Austrian attorney since 2004 and listed in Legal 500 and Chambers. He describes himself as having used AI tools six months before ChatGPT existed, runs about 80 AI tools in his daily practice and has invested thousands of hours researching practical AI applications for lawyers.

Before the AI Lab he founded the WT Crypto Academy, through which more than 1,000 lawyers have trained with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, and he has delivered around 450 conference presentations. His TEDx talk on large language models is on YouTube.
